The passion plays "Passionsspiele" in Thiersee

A piece of Thiersee tradition

The acclaimed passion plays have been held in Thiersee since 1799. Every 6 years the villagers perform this mystery play in the 80-year-old "Passionsspielhaus" (passion theatre).

The latest play took place in 2011. More than 250 performers and musicians devoted themselves to preparations for this 200 year old tradition.
